After visiting Maine for the first time last year, I decided to return this summer and bring my youngest son who is starting to really enjoy photography.
He was inspired by the landscapes from my photos during my visit last year and expressed interest in visiting the next time I went. Well after spending most of the summer away from my kids, I decided I owed it to him to plan a trip.
This time we were going to spend four days in the middle of August. I wasn't 100% sure on what type of weather we would find, however being New England and on the coast you never really know one week to the next. We were pleasantly surprised by the overall temperature, not too hot and not too cold - it was pretty much just right.
My son enjoyed our explorations around Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. As you will see by the pictures we would get pockets of sunshine mainly in the interior parts of the island, however along the coast it was socked in with heavy fog and overcast sky's. We didn't let that bother us as we spent the four days hiking around trying to see as much as we could. All in all it was a great trip.
